Looking for a bit more grunt without the money really. On my TVR Tuscan i removed the rear boxes and sleeved the rear cans. I appreciate that a TVR and Mercedes are worlds apart but is something similar achievable, been done anywhere? So basically rear boxes off, replace with tube rolled to suit and perhaps new dual AMG tips.

Rear boxes are a little odd in shape some have removed the centre resonator to give more noise. Not sure on performance increase as the engines a little lazy till you really try.

I wasn't necessarily looking for power gains with a simple change. Just trying to achieve a nicer noise without developing exhausts and breaking the bank!

I believe this can be done by removing the centre boxes.
Whatever you do I'd be interested to know - the SL500 has a very muted sound for what it is. I'd like a nice burble.

Got an aftermarket (believe AMG - it's stamped as such) stainless exhaust system on mine and there's no back box(s) at all, just pipes and it sound fekkin' awesome!
