320 cdi missing when cold

I am really hoping someone can shed some light on a slight problem I have with a 320cls and a ml320cdi. They both have the same fault, when they are cold and you put your foot down they both have a tendancy to miss really badly. The car almost kangaroos down the road, they don't do it all the time but with the cold weather it seems to be more often.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and does anyone else have this problem. It seems odd that both the cars are suffering from the same problem.

I had the a similar problem with an ML320CDI (only when cold, and only for a few minutes of driving) which the dealership struggled to fix. A gearbox software update helped a bit but the problem was fixed eventually after the turbo and exhaust manifolds were replaced. All under guarantee, fortunately, in my case.
