Perhaps a generation thing or for those that have no MB loyalty?
I know for a fact, my father (MB classic owner x2 and long time R129 admirer) would be horrified.

I saw something equally odd on the M25 a few weeks ago.
It looked at first glance like an R230 - back lights, front nose, gills etc. But it was subtly wrong - the glass wasn't curved enough and the line of the A piller to the back pillar was too straight. It appeared to be an R129 tarted up to look like an R230 - it was very odd.
Anyone seen one of these?

Utterly strange , however the private plate M1 BERK seems somehow appropriate .
I remember an 'improvement' being offered to W124 owners by a company offering bolt on W210 wings , lights and bonnet . The whole car looked as if it had been drawn by a toddler fuelled by blue smarties .
Anyhow , there's no accounting for taste ....
