Mercedes Limo 'Special' - any info

Found the following pics at the local tip (!) of what appears to be a Mercedes 'Popemobile' type Limo - there seems to be one large centrally mounted seat in the rear. Have been unable to find any pics of it in use or any other info. Does anyone know anything about this car? Was it actually an official 'Popemobile' or if not who / what was it built for?
