w209 CLK 320 CDI with CLK63 AMG exhaust?
Discussion
Hi guys, been a lurker for a while now...but recently ive managed to save up enough for a nice clk....ive read the recent threads on which varient one should choose over another...armed with this useful info i went off to search for a facelifted clk320 cdi sport. i have come across this on ebay and was wondering if some of you nice chaps/chapesses could help me out with this one which i have seen on ebay:

i dont think it will be a genuine CLK63 exhaust and as such will it cuase any problems with such things as the dpf/egr valves etc? what about the cat converters? also would this have any impact on the emissions at all?
i do feel the car does look very nice...and some of the options fitted are rare, however i do not want to potentially buy soemthing which could cause me problems...
all input will be much appriciated

Looks a nice car.
I have a big spec 320 sport & as you say they are a good car, the only possible downside is with all the torque they go through the rear tyres, but i think BMW & Audi suffer as well with the big diesel engines.
Thoughts on the car:
Milage is a little up ?
Exhaust looks good but may increase insurance ?
The bigger spec makes it a nicer car.
Check date of sat nav CD.
Good luck
John

thanks for the feedback guys,
he wants £9500...thats whats putting me off rather than the mileage....as if its been maintained correctly it shouldnt be a problem.
i guess if i went and viewed the car, he may agree to a more realistic price...but the snag is that its 2hours away...having said that its probably the nicest specced one for sale right now.
why do all the 'good' ones always have to be so far away!

....no offence intended .....and thoughts on the car .....no dont do it .....something made to look better than it is is never a good thing......its always gonna be a 320 CDI ...and while thats a brilliant car ......its not a CLK 63 AMG, you will always look at it and know that it is not what it says it is ......and I was making the point that for the OPs budget he can get 'a real one' all be it slightly older....snaz
I completely understand what you are saying (snaz), but having gone to see the car yesterday, i can report back that the car is spot on...yes it has the non standard exhaust but the seller explained why he had done it...he was even prepared to swap the old one back on if needed....but in his opinion the 'look' was right...and i can see his point of view tbh....i mean even common diesel car these days are coming with exhaust tip on either side...it just gives a car a better stance...so i for one havent been put off by it...the system is a back box only so all sensors cat etc all remain in place...there is a small burble at idle and it does make a more spotier noise when going higher in the rev range...but nothing near boy racer type.
i spent 90mins there...20 of which were drving the car...another 15-20mins checking the car over...the rest was spent having tea with delicious homemade cake and discussing car in general.
in the end though, he was unwilling to come down to the offer i made....for the time being, but will get back to me.
also, i pretty certain you cannot get hold of a clk63 amg for less than 25k? clk55 yes...but they are older with completely different engine/interior/exterior?
oh and to set the record straight..the house, all i'll say is i wish i had a set up like that at my age nevermind his! beautiful gardens all round with all sorts of fruit trees/shrubs, flower beds etc....and the interior (well the room i was led into) was very 'tasteful' indeed...although i did ask about the fountain being cleverly added into the ebay listing...and all he said was that he was trying to show the quality of the paintwork by the reflection...
but to be fair, looking at it in the 'flesh' it does go very nicely in its surroundings...just not sure it ws needed to be included when selling your car!
just waiting for listing to end and see what outcome is....but i'd love to own the car...
