Heating orthopedic seats in a W209?
Discussion
Hi I'm looking to buy a CLK320 CDI Sport and have found one in a colour the girlfriend loves (Mauritius Blue) but it is missing a couple of options we had put as must haves. One is parking sensors which we could forgo but the other is heated seats which she can't be without! The seats fitted are orthopedic is there any chance that they may have the heating elements inside but may not have been connected? I have read that if this were the case then a wiring loom and new control panel would enable the element. Apparently you can check by looking for a connector without a plug in it under the seat.
Has anyone done this or would care to comment?!

I'd be surprised, but you never know. Certainly others suggest the elements might already be there.
There are several retrofit kits which a good upholsterer will be able to install for you. A good auto electrician may even be able to wire them up to MB switches.
These links may assist you. I found this stuff within 10 seconds of searching "209 CLK retrofit heated seats" on Google, so I'm sure you may be able to find more information with a little application.

I know where you're coming from, having retrofitted heated seats to my SEC. I wouldn't say it was easy, but nor was it impossibly difficult. I am totally useless, however, so others might find it simple. I'd far rather have heated seats than air con.
