W211 E 320CDI steering knocking

just noticed a knock in our steering on the MB as you waggle it from left to right. I think its coming from the steering rack or maybe its mountings if they are mounted on rubber. Does anyone know whether these are a problem? Car has done about 120,000 and we have had it from new.

Could be lower ball joints (integral part of suspension arm)? I think Europarts may be able to supply a decent pattern part? Good luck!
