W221 wheel change

Am thinking of changing the wheels on my 2007 W221 (iridium silver) for something more aggressive and sporty looking - I quite like the S65 wheels, but am not going to drop £4k to change. Any thoughts from you guys to achieve a great look (20s max to preserve the ride a bit)

You may find this website useful. The prices are about as good as you will find and most of the stock is high quality.

The question of what is a "great look" is entirely subjective, so there is precious little point in seeking anyone else's opinion of it. FWIW, my favorite wheels for the 221 are these two:





Modesty suits the 221. Too many of them are vulgarians' chariots.

I would be reluctant to fit large size cast wheels due to the very high weight of such items (putting aside the detrimental effect on the ride and handling). Forged wheels will be lighter but it seems that even the owners of very expensive cars begrudge paying for forged wheels. From a purely technical or engineering point of view, there is no advantage in fitting wheels greater than 17" in diameter to a regular 221: indeed, quite the opposite, there are only disadvantages.

Agree that it is subjective about what looks great, but am always Interested in the thoughts of others.

True, but 17's look s**t on such a big car

Seen some lovely 19's that were the optional sport wheels on them for decent money on fleabay

Make sure you keep the rolling diameter the same as original wheels/tyres. Going to a 19" rim wheel require fitting very low profile tyres and possibly ruin the ride?
