I have had a new 2012 C220 Sport Estate for a couple of weeks now. I love the car except for the wind noise. Do they all have a whistling wind noise above 65mph?

My 8 week old C Class estate doesn't have this problem. Is the noise coming from the window surround or elsewhere?

I also have a new C class Estate. No whistling noise either. Definitely something wrong with the window or sunroof seals. Anyone here find the seats uncomfortable during a long drive? Always end up with a lower back ache which is disappointing. Otherwise great car!

I've had a look at all the seals and they all seem ok. The noise is coming from the top of the screen. Also I now have a squeeky passenger seat. (If this is after 900 miles I'd hate to think what it will be like 40K down the road!!)

These niggles are ruining an otherwise great car. Think I'm off to the dealer soon for them to look at it.

No issue with whistling on my C220 estate.

For the back pain on longer journeys, I found that adjusting the lumbar support to it's lowest setting helped. Just did a 590+ mile stint into Germany from Herts last week and found it comfortable on that setting.

Also managed to do that journey on one tank, with roofbox. Computer was estimating range of 50 miles when we pulled up at 'das in-laws haus'. Didn't go over 80mph as wanted to see if it could be done on one tank.

I have a 2012 c class estate 250 cdi sport. Whilst wind noise supression is not as good as my previous Insignia I dont get a whistling or any excessive noise.

I can relate to the uncomfortable seats though i get a numb bum after about 2 hours in the seat (it has full leather which may make this worse?) it is disapointing.

economy inproving and performance good

Well I've been into Mercedes. The seat has been given a bit of lubrication and the squeak has gone. The whistling noise has been sorted (Trim not clipped in properly up the side of the screen) but it still has a lot of wind noise at speed when compared to my Passat.

I was given another to use (C200 SE) while it was being sorted and that was just as bad. So it looks like it's the norm. Dealer did comment that it was a regular complaint on these cars.

So it looks like I'll be making more use of the stereo on the motorway blasts!!

Glad you got it sorted. I've my C220 estate for a few weeks now and not noticed any significant wind noise up to about 90mph. whistle

Seats? Well, they aren't as comfy as I was expecting. I don't have the full electric option so may be missing some adjustment, but it seems as if the seat is a bit 'flat' as if needing angled backwards slightly to give a bit more thigh support. Certainly not a patch on the seats in my old S124 which were immensely comfortable.

Mine is silent.
But the stereo is excellent so I would have to turn it down to check.
