While in for a service I was advised of a leak from the power steering box on my SL500. The top seal was renewed which required stripping down and rebuilding the box. Now, with the box adjusted properly the steering is night and day better than before, no looseness around the straight ahead position and very smooth. I was never happy with the feel before but this seems to have cured the ills.
Well worth doing if you drive a recirc ball steering Benz.
