I am very seriously considering selling my GT3 and getting an oldish CLK55 so I can (a) put some cash in the bank and (b)have a car that is everyday useable without having to bother about putting the miles on it. There's one in Surrey that I'm interested in and will follow up with an inspection before I do anything, but are there well known - to you, not me obviously - things that should be looked out for or which can be problematic?
The car I am pondering is a 2003 with about 70K miles and a full history, latterly with a specialist. Priced at about £7K it seems ideal but what do I need to be aware of.
Thanks

Hi ...there was a thread on this a few months ago .....have a search and all will be revealed .....but things to watch out for are Torque converter (can go and is expensive), at 70k miles it should have had a spark plug change (16 of the buggers!!..for which mercedes will bum rape you .....this i know!!
)....electrics small niggly things (as youd expect on an almost 10yo motor) .....do these bits yourself or at a specialist ....and it need not be to expensive ...
great useable fun tho!! ....my black 53plate with 61k miles may be up for sale soon .....just sayin
