220 is a diesel, petrol is 200 cgi or 250 cgi.

I have a 2011 e200 cgi estate, it's sufficient for me, but that's it, it's sufficient, ok, acceptable, nothing more! On paper it accelerates as quick as the diesel e220 cdi but as a previous owner of one of those I'd say the petrol feels slower as there isn't that slug of diesel torque.

I have a 7g auto, it's lovely and smooth and I get 28mpg around town and 38mpg on a run. I'd say you might get slightly less with a manual as you'll probably end up working the engine harder and changing higher up the rev range than the auto would to get some go from the engine simply due to the fact it's a petrol. I bought the petrol as I personally prefer driving one.

If buying make sure it's cheap, as come resale time any dealer you go to is going to suck through his teeth once you mention it's a manual and make you an accordingly derisory offer! The manual might be wonderful, but Merc owners by and large don't want them.

Needs to be cheap as petrol manual means there will be a limited resale market for it.

Fate has it. The one i was nosing over has sold! Was a good looker, plenty of spec, but heart now says better going for an Auto Diesel and can go bigger if needs be. HID's wants a panoramic roof i'm not fussed , does anyone have any comments on that?
Some good ones to have, just missed out on another, selling too fast or are they fictitious just to get you to call the dealer!! [ oh sorry sir, just sold, how about....]
