as per title, have just bought an ok example of an e250, its my first mercedes and was wonding if they have any common faults, appart from rusting on all of the arches like i have. is there an easy way of making it handle less like a boat for a budget as I've bought it just to commute. Many thanks.

not really, it was too cheap to miss,it is a 1997 on an R, seems quite a high spec, manual unfortunatley as this seems to be unpopular.

Is this a W124 or a W210?

There are a few late W124s round that year that were export models with heavy-duty suspension, manual gearbox and air-conditioning. If it's one of those don't monkey with it - just leave it alone and learn to love it

To find out more about W210s and W124s do a forum search - there will be loads of threads on them

it is a 124, it has air con, not sure about the suspension but does seem a bit like a water bed
