Hi need some advice about error codes on sl55 amg , i have intermittent abc code which will not clear sometimes and prevents me from adjusting ride height and esp fault code which keeps traction control off , have read all about the related abc issues and kmow i probably need to go to get the codes examined but is it possible that my consumer battery could cause these faults ? reason i say this is because i only normally do short journeys but i went for a drive and after a few miles the esp started working and when i stopped switched car off and restarted the abc worked fine just wondering if battery drain could be the cause ? any help much appreciated

I would get this on my SL500 if I ever disconnected my consumer battery - ESP error. Cycling the steering from lock to lock cleared it if memory serves.

I think on the 55 its unlikely to be a battery situation. I had exactly the same and drive only short journeys. Eventually the light stayed on and the car dropped and wouldnt rise and went into its protective mode. The initial fix was about 1800 at a main dealer - I think it was the pressure pump for the system that was replaced. After that was fixed about a year later the front struts and bushes needed replaced - all part of the ABC system I believe. Was quoted c4k from Merc. Good luck!
