Looking at an E63 today and, as the title says, it's an ex-demonstrator.
Should this put me off?
It's a one owner car (presumably MD or the dealer) FSH and with under 15,000 miles and most toys fitted, I suppose to please potential customers.
I'm just worried that as a demo it could have been thrashed about a bit.

Was intending keeping my next one for at least three years, though don't really rack the miles up any more. Between 6 - 8k per year is probably all that I do nowadays.
Thinking about the poor thing being hammered from a cold start over short distances now, something they don't get from me very often.
Never exceed 2,000 revs till everything is toasty warm and smooth.

Well, I got there and they'd sold it.
It was down at MB Brooklands, but my local dealer had emailed me the details about it and my appointment was this morning.
I would have been annoyed about wasting a trip, but the salesman who emailed me wasn't in due to a bereavement (his F i L) so I'll obviously give him the benefit.
The guy who I did see was OK and is continuing the quest for my E63, though in the meantime I'll be looking at an XFR next week, which I did mention to MB just to explain that whoever comes up with the best deal gets my money.

You know they're selling cheap ones on finance not with massive contributions, to clear them out prior to the facelift don't you? Probably cheaper than buying the demo if you work out the costs.Should this put me off?

Indeed. Actually my main concern with a big AMG car from Brooklands would be whether its spent its life going sideways as part of their "AMG Experience" cars...
As mentioned earlier the car has now been sold, though all comments are noticed and appreciated.

Go for the E63 - im sure you wont regret it. I had a similar dillema although with a DB9 rather then the Jag.

In my experience, there's little difference in price between a demonstrator with 200 miles on the colck or 5,000. I know which one I would sniff out....
With some serious discounting and no waiting, I would always recommend a demo, especially if (as already mentioned) you don't keep your cars that long.

I still fancy one, and wonder if I'd regret not buying one if I do go for something else. I still miss my E55 (W211) from well over three years ago.However, the Jaguar XFR has been niggling at me for a while now, and a local (ish) dealer to me are getting a low mileage example in next week, so the least I can do is have a look at it.
I got a notification from Autotrader this morning about another E63 just listed, but it's too dear for what it is in my opinion, even though it's a very low mileage and tidy car with most of the boxes ticked. I was offered a Bi-Turbo (previous post) for less than this.
Whatever I end up with will have to last me for at least a couple of years, usually three, so I'll just keep looking.
I'm not in a massive rush so I'll just wait for the right car to come along.
