Hi All,

I bought a CSL CDI on Saturday and notied that when I depress the ESP button the indictor light on the button does not illuminate or there is no indication on the dash.
From memory of my Wifes ML, 'ESP' came up on the dash in orange when switched on.
I would have thought this would be similar across the MB range.

Can someone advise me what is correct please.

Cheers,
Tony.

Just checked on my 06 CLS - the switch does not illuminate when pressed, but there is an orange triangular warning light, with an exclamation mark, in the instrument cluster.

No idea what the absence of the light means - I hope it is nothing serious, particularly given your enthusiastic comments on the other CLS post!

Hi Stephen, Thanks for the feedback.
The car is still at the dealers so I nipped up this morning to check because they need to put any problems right before I collect.
I've seen the triangle as you described so all is well. Must have been blind last night.
Yes, I'm very please to get my hands on a CLS. I've admired them since I spotted my first.
Cheers,
Tony.

My 02 CL does not display the light when ESP is off but my partner's 02 SLK does. At first I thought the ESP wouldn't disengage, but having tested it in the recent snow, I can confirm if does indeed disengage although the light only illuminates when the ignition is first turned on.

I'm still not sure why the SLK behaves differently than the CL, but I've been assured there is nothing wrong with either cars???
