Mercedes G350 opinions?
Discussion
Just looking for some first ( even second :-) ) hand opinions on the G350.
Current car is a Brabus D8 equipped GL 420, with Brabus exhaust. It has been a great car except for a bad turbo, suspension and cps all replaced by MB under warranty.
Seen a few G350 dip under 60 MB approved used.
Have had a ML320 before and not big enough for us.
Any caveats, opinions etc appreciated.

Will divide opinion...most will hate it with a passion the rest will love it with a passion.
Best built car you will ever buy..just shut the door. As quick as you need, will cross the continent at 100 in quiet comfort. Spec varies, very few have tv but most have rear seat dvd's. Individual spec coloured leather is very rare but lovely. Black or grey best in my opinion, white too middle east silver too 1990's.
Prices not stable yet, wbac were 55k on a 11 reg 6 months ago, now 45k. I think they'll steady decline till 40 something then stay for a good while....look at 10 year old ones. Bid 5k under what they are looking, there's big margins and few customers.
Great machines all in all, for me a range rover would not even be on my radar were I looking again.

Bought my wife one Nov 11. Got it as a static demo and it has all the toys which is a bonus.
Quite heavy on diesel and can cost £115 to refuel. At an average of 23mpg it is not the most economical.
Ride is very harsh and speed bumps nearly send your head for the roof!
That said, its a rare and fantastic car. You hardly see another and we would definitely have another.
Thinking of upgrading to G65 as sounds better and not that much difference in fuel cost for her due to low miles being covered. G Wagon only done 3500 miles from new!
I would see if you could borrow one and cover some miles in it - don't forget to see if it will fit in garage as quite tall.
Hope this helps?

Many thanks MrCrazy. The GL420 can be a bit heavy fuel wise so I am used to that. I have quite a large garage/ workshop so parking is not an issue. The ride might be, unless is adjustable like on the GL. How did you find the overtaking? Been driving a 62 plate Range Rover V8 for the last two weeks and it feels really slow compared to the GL. Been trying to get to a dealer that has a G350 but timing has not been right.

Ride height not adjustable which is a pity as cannot stress enough the height of these. We have a fairly big garage but it just fits under the doors, about one inch to spare!Ride on Range Rover far more comfy but that said its a RangeRover and there are loads of them.
Quite good on mid range pulling, really picks its feet up for overtaking. This is a big heavy car though and you need big balls when it comes to attacking bends at high speed. Be careful
