CLS - no cup holders ?

I recently bought a 2008 CLS 320 CDI as I feel it will be ideal for my 740 mile commute from UK home to German office.
I only just discovered that it lacks cup holders which, for many of us, is an essential bit of kit.

I've been scratching my head wondering how I'm going to overcome this so any tips will be warmly appreciated.

Isn't there a cubby hole just ahead of the centre arm-rest (before the gear shift); it should be deep enough to hold a cup easily, as this is where they put the optional cup holder if you ordered it.

A few years ago, a colleague commuted weekly between Friedrichshafen (Lake Constance) and Bremen - roughly 480 miles each way. I did the trip with him once; he'd persuaded the firm that a rental Audi A6 3.0 TDi worked out at less cost and more effectively than the flight, because he could finish work when it pleased him and he didn't have to fit his times around airline schedules - and the wretchedness of making his connecting flight at Frankfurt. Luggage was a darn site easier too. The last thing we wanted was cup holders; after finishing work we set off, then stopped half way for a break. Much better than doing the trip non-stop and messing about with in-car beverages!

I did the trip from UK to Friedrichshafen a couple of times by road in my SLK32 AMG. But I always stopped somewhere half-way on Sunday night as it was just a bit too far to drive non-stop in a roadster!

It's a 2008 model. Couldn't afore a new one and I prefer the older shape / style lines.

I make pit stops but enjoy having in car refreshments.
I normally break the trip into two and stay in Gent.

That's the one, but trust me they are cheaper from the dealer parts dept. Chancers put them on eBay and people pay well more thatn they should for them.
