Air-suspension and other q's - Merc CLS

Evening folks,

looking for a little help prior to buying a CLS320 CDI, likely 2005 / 2006, possibly 2007.

Not many listings seem to mention the adjustable air-suspension being fitted (perhaps sellers aren't always aware?) and I'm looking for a little help;

• Is the standard ride as firm as people suggest? I've a '99 Jag XJR which I think it a great drive, would the CLS be harder?
• Would anyone with adjust. susp on their CLS recommend, or not worth holding out for?
• Where is the adjuster for the CLS - in case I have to guide the salesman into how to check it for me?

Are there any known problems / recalls I should check have been completed?
Any other comments on a second hand CLS320?

The 'airmatic' is only standard on 500 and on AMG versions (a slightly different type). It would have been an extra for a 320. Most ads won't mention it because most 320s won't have it.

I've not driven a 320 but I have read positive reviews on the benefits of airmatic.

If you are concerned about hard ride, and if you don't buy one with airmatic, don't get the 19" wheels.

There are two buttons behind the gear shift lever. One on the left to raise the car and one in the middle to adjust the dampers.
