A road trip

Looking at driving around europe this summer so looking for a convertable. Only problem is soft top will be slashed where i live, hence me looking at merc sl 350.

What would running costs be like for a hard top covertable?

Open to other suggestions but cant be a soft top and needs to be convertable for under 10k.

May I suggest you re-order your priorities and spend your money on a house in a better area instead of a fancy car.

How about something like an S2000, which are available with hard tops? Keep the hard top on round your area and then when you take it on your European drive, leave the hard top at home and just use the soft top?

You'd get decent economy and performance from an S2000 too compared to the Merc

Been quoted £3000 on a 500 and only £1900 on a 350. Considering my focus will be £1400 it doesnt seem bad.

Also its the college and parking in town will be the problem. My house is on a farm in the middle of no where, no ripping it there.

Well had my wing mirror covers stolen, wipers taken and arial snapped. Its the college car park =/

Mx5 with a hard top doesnt fold down and i doubt would be that comfortable for a roadtrip.
