E320 Cdi Brabus D6 (III) Eco Power - do I, don't I?

Morning all,
A while ago I bought a 2008 E320 Cdi Sport estate, now with 55k on it, while it does the family wagon thing exceptionally well, it does lack a bit of 'grunt'.
I am considering having the Brabus chip installed but it is not cheap, does anyone have any experience of the chip, both before and after in terms of both performance and fuel economy? Also is it inadvisable to have it installed at this mileage?
Thoughts, comments or alternatives appreciated!
