How necessary is a service based on time? Indie in Surrey

My CLS63 is telling me it needs a service in a few weeks. It has done less than 5k miles in the past 11 and a bit months since it last went to Mercedes. It is not due brake fluid and filters for a few more months but Mercedes are suggesting doing them all together. What do other owners think? Should I just not be a cheapskate and get the work done on what the computer says?
