Isofix in a new SLK
Anyone know if the current shape SLK has isofix on the passenger seat. The marketing info suggests a Mercedes approved car seat automatically disables the passenger Airbags but doesn’t say how this fits or works?
I would like to use our existing isofix only car seat, does anyone have little ones in their SLK.
Is it fairly easy/straight forward with either a belt mounted seat or isofix, to turn off passenger airbags, or is it not required if using a forward facing seat, with the seat all the way back?

I hate to say, but no it doesn't seem to come with Isofix. I just got looked at mine to make sure because I was convinced it did.Anyone know if the current shape SLK has isofix on the passenger seat. I'm pretty sure you should be able to turn the air bag off as there certainly are light on the dashboard that can clearly be illuminated when the airbag is turned off. If you don't get any other replies I will dig out my handbook and have a look for you
I've got a Mercedes KidFix on the passenger seat for our 3 3/4 year old son, which uses the seatbelt to effectively hold the seat (and child) in place. The current SLK doesn't have ISOFIX. Neither did the previous R171 model.
Prior to this seat I had the Stage 1 Mercedes version and, again, the seatbelt locked the seat in place.
I bought both seats off ebay and both sellers claimed they had the AKSE transponders in the base (to turn off the passenger airbag.) Neither actually did! However, I bought the transponders separately off ebay and they sit in a jiffy bag under the car seat quite neatly. I paid about 90 for the transponders but last time I looked the going rate seemed to be about 60 and there were a few sellers!
