c350 or c320 sport diesel

Thinking of getting one of these cars, I have a budget of £16k max & now see that the c350 is in range! Has anyone had both as i see one has 225 bhp & other has 286 bhp so would rather have more power & worse economy!
I see they do petrol version of 350 as well, she only does max of 7k year & lots of short journeys, would petrol be better? as cheaper to buy?
Also have they all got the 7 speed auto with paddles? We want the amg sport look but is the suspension hard for our crappy roads.Have they got good parking sensors back & front with visual as well as audio?
Any other iformation on what to buy option wise which is good or rubbish would be helpful as its for wife & cant get it wrong........
Is there many difference between the 2 cars?

Currently have a C300 diesel. Very economical on a long run and very quick...lots of torque. However, if you're doing lots of short journeys, stop start and town driving and you don't care too much about mpg being perhaps 30 percent lower than the 6 cylinder diesel, I'd go for the 350 petrol. Having had one for a couple of days whilst my car was in for service, I was very impressed with how smooth it was and how silent the engine is. The diesel is great, but you do feel a slight roughness in start stop driving, especially when cold. The V6 petrol feels silky smooth and a little more responsive.

Is there really that much difference (on cars of about the same age)?

I've seen it mentioned in Merc forums that some people have bought 350's but the V5C says it's a 320. The explanation is that the cars are identical and the badge on the boot was only changed to 350 line up with BMWs 335d.

350cdi has a DPF and more power less economy and refinement, the 320cdi has no DPF, a little slower and better on fuel.

The 7g plus cars addressed the economy and poor shifting of the 7g and being newer would be my choice. Brabus D6S tuning takes them to over 300bhp. A petrol engine is an option but they lack torque and are hard to find being so rare
