Well I needed a little more room...only had it a week or so but I love it, not as quick as the Jag but quick enough.

I almost bought that very car, but held out for an AMG. It's epic!

I was also thinking about the AMG, but the low mileage and condition of this one plus it only having one owner swung it for me. As I said, it's plenty fast enough for me. I must be getting old frown

Did you find an AMG car?

I looked at a few. There are some real dogs out there. One broke down (lost drive to transmission) whilst I was taking it for a spin) and the dealer said not to worry, because it'd be covered under the warranty!

One PH member had a nice one, and I was going to buy that, but he decided against selling it; can't say I blame him.

Got this one eventually...

Ha, that reminds me of an SL500 I test drove. It had ADS which was clearly knackered and when I mentioned it the salesman tried to sell me a more expensive warranty to cover it!

He was also strangely reluctant to take the hardtop off, so I suspected the hood mechanism was knackered. Even though I'd already decided not to buy the car my stubbornness took over and I waited for nearly an hour until he managed to find time to help me remove it....sure enough red flashing lights and no working soft top...

I guess they just hope to find a sucker to buy these dogs!

Lovely CLS by the way! Is it the 5.5l engine?

HI, mine isn't the 5.5 no it's the 5.0 306HP version. I think the later ones went up to 376HP.

THe CLS is a cracking car, the 500 and the 63 are the only two I have not driven. The 55k is the one to get for the 5g box and the collosus of power

I could very well be wrong here but I think the 500 has a 7G box

smile excellent. I've got the 5l in my SL500 and sometimes think it could do with a bit more low down urge... . I'm sure one of those would cure that!
