'06 E63 estate AMG
Discussion
hi all, would be grateful for any advice..i've got my eye on an E63 AMG class estate, 80,000miles, going for £18,995..1 year warranty and MOT included..apparently very well maintained, has all the paperwork..any issues I should look out for or ones that may arise in view of the high mileage..?
thanks in advance

I have a CLS 63 which shares most of the mechanicals.
Brakes: I saw front discs last over 80k (not my car but another). They were shot. So, unless this car has had them replaced, they'll need doing. Almost £2k if genuine Merc composite brakes. Aftermarket one piece can be had for about £250. Rears are not especially expensive, maybe £400.
If you want to measure the life remaining in the discs:

Ask about oil consumption. Apparently some 63s can drink >1 litre per 1000 miles. Mine has had 2 litres in 5000.
Mine has a slightly lumpy 2 to 3 gear change for first few mins. Then it's fine. I understand this is not uncommon.
Otherwise, check the paperwork and that all of the electrics work.
