Thinking of getting a CLK. What to look for?

Current commuter car is in the vehicular equivalent of the hospice, it's only a matter of time now.

Looking for a replacement and as a Merc fan I do miss my E-Class of two cars ago. Looking around I quite fancy a second hand CLK (diesel auto). Any strong opinions on this car from anyone?

I want a nice place to sit, reasonable performance, decent fuel economy and a good looking car. This seems to tick all the boxes.

Well taking all the opinions into account thus far received as there wasn't any negativity I have gone ahead and bought a second hand CLK 220 sport.

What's the model, year, mileage and condition?

It's an 02. Clk 240 petrol. One owner 56 k and it's immaculate

Mine is a later model, diesel and with less mileage so it wouldn't be a fair comparison.

Bit of a difference then.what are they like to drive.doyou get any noise through the side windows

A lovely experience. No noise, no. Very quiet even for a diesel unit.

Seat is excellent. Lots of lumbar adjustment options.

Nice to be back in a merc.
