Changing brakes on SL55

I think I'm right in saying these have the same SBC system my old E55 did?, I know their meant to be fiddly to change yourself but is there any way you can do this without the SBC priming the brakes etc?.

Yeah - same system. You'll be fine as long as you don't "wake" the car up, so don't open the doors, utilise the central locking, switch on the ignition etc and there's nothing to worry about.

There's a fuse you can pull if you need.

However I've also read that even if the car does wake up the pistons move a tiny amount - they don't shoot out or anything.

Did a few sets of pads on my R230 and they're easy peasy.

Thanks, that's good to know, I'm going to grab them from GSF on Tuesday and try and get them done then as the rears are getting pretty low now, did you replace the wear sensors at the same time?, I only ask as I wonder how many they've got?.

Always replace the sensors - they're only a couple of quid and sometimes the old ones break apart, which would be a major pain if GSF is (a) a long way off (b) shut.

There's only one sensor on the back.

I've ordered the wear sensors too, it's going to have to wait until the weekend to get done now, shouldn't take too long though, luckily I've got a GSF quite local to me.
