Hi Guys,

thinking of pulling the trigger on a c63...but am dithering whether coupe or saloon.....im single with no kids so either would work....i thought i would choose the coupe all day long but seem to be drawn to the saloon...

also dealer is quoting £56,965 with dealer contribution of £6,429 on saloon and
£58,165 with £6,194 contribution on coupe......has anyone got any additional discount of the otr price and if so what should i be pressing for?

any advice greatly received

Coupe gets my vote, I am of course biased. When I saw the coupe and saloon next to each other my mind was made up and put the deposit on the coupe.

The coupes look much better in the flesh

What colour are you thinking?

I am slightly biased, but I always thought that the amount of "metal" around the rear-quarter of the Coupe made any wheel look lost, even the 18" and 19", so Saloon for me.

you should be able to get more money off 1 a chap just ordered a 507 and got 13k off 1 in total. saloon or coupe both look stunning go for a ppplus car if you can.the panroof on the coupe really sets it off.

I know what you mean rassi, I thought that until I saw one or two in the flesh with titanium coloured wheels. I think it may be the black wheels, in particular blackwheels with the polished rim that gives that illusion.

As I said earlier also, go see them in the flesh. I was set on a saloon, but very glad I have the coupe now.

Yes, the black wheels may exaggerate it http://www.autoblog.com/2011/06/06/2012-mercedes-b...

Thanks for the input lads....greatly appreciated......edging more and more towards the saloon....colour wise 3 choices at the moment.....Palladium Silver.......Tenorite Grey and the wildcard Fire Opal........would really like to know if anyone has negotiated a discount on the on the road price even though the dealer is inputting a six grand contribution straight away

Fire Opal is excellent in the flesh. Pictures don't do it justice tbh.

I have the 507 Coupe on order (have kids but like Coupes) - 6k contribution in my experience is pretty much the current offer from Mercedes, with 4.5% APR - so what you are being quoted doesn't seem to me like the dealer is putting anything extra in, so I would explore further...

What Eddie said, when I saw his I was quite taken with the colour and went and got mine. Red is an excellent choice and really, coupe or saloon either one will make grin like some sort of mental patient.

Get the PP+ and I like my DAB and just relish the fact that you have one of the worlds great engines.

Duncan,

hope you don't mind me asking but did you manage to secure anything extra off on top of the dealer contribution on your 507 order

Lovely car, ecain63. Wish i had no bottled it and gone for the red. Notice you have the carbon spoiler. Have you noticed any fading in it? My 9 month old C63 has a bit of fading in the spoiler already not happy. There is a thread on the amg private lounge regarding black series owners who have had the same problem. Just wondering if its occuring more often. Apologies for hijacking thread.

Yes - on the quote it says "- special allowance" - this is on top of the deposit contribution from Mercedes. I shopped around, for example the dealer who I bought from originally didn't give me a "special allowance" but I went back and forth and when I was ready to order, I said can you meet this number and they did and we did the deal.

No issue on mine mate, but to be fair they could have fitted a new one pre-sale when i bought it in Jan. I have heard of this though. At the bodyshop that sorted my doors there was an SL65 that had badly discoloured carbon trim. Something to do with water ingress according to the bodyshop manager. As said, no issue with mine but ive only had it 4 1/2 months. Red rocks!
