Just tried to get a spare key cut for my 300CE and the guy in Timpsons reckons I can only get one from Mercedes.

Does anyone know if this true? If not where can I get one?

Any idea how much Merc charge?

Thanks for looking.

I required two new keys last year for my 124. Mine has the Mercedes remote alarm, so it was around £200.
I think the non-remote key is around £120. I think.

I had to order from my local MB Dealer. Not even my specialist could order on my behalf.
You have to go along with proof of vehicle ownership (V5) your license (I took both parts).

Cheers Darren, I've e-mailed my local dealer to find out how much it will be. Tried a few places and they reckon it's main dealer only.

£120 is bit pricey.

Really? I got two for my W126 from Timpsons without any problems at all. No ID required.

Got a mail back from MB Bromley and they can do the new key for £37, which isn't too bad.

Are we talking just a regular key (not a remote fob)? I remember buying a blank key from ebay and getting it cut in the high street (will need a flashy laser cutter).
