I am looking to buy an SLS and am currently weighing up the two seat options these cars come with.
I've driven a car with the standard seats and came away with the impression that they will require some more experimenting with ,as I never really got comfortable in them.
I've also driven a car with the AMG sports bucket seats, which I immediately got on with and found very comfortable with a lower driving position. I also prefer the look of them.
There seem to be very few cars on the used market with the bucket seats.
Is there a good reason for this? One dealer told me that being as these cars don't get used much, most customers expect the fully adjustable electric seats with the memory function. If I went for the buckets, will I be severely restricting the market when I come to sell?

Mate, this is a really personal thing. I guess as the car is a GT and not a hardcore sports car it may not in some peoples opinions suit the buckets. I'm pretty tall and I was surprised how well the standard seats fitted me, the only comment I'd make is that they're a bit too high and I'd assume the buckets are lower slung. I think you will certainly find less of a market for the buckets, however like you, having the buckets might make all the difference to the next buyer. In other words, just buy what you're happy with not what the next buyer will think.

Hi Lagerlout,The buckets are lower slung and I think your right in that it's a case of buying what I'm going to be happy with rather than what the next buyer might think.
If I bought a car with the standard seats does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to change to the buckets?
The standard seats are very adjustable. Bolsters, lumbar, height etc. I doubt that the buckets are going to be a better fit once you've had time to play around with them properly.

I now have them set much lower, and have to stretch a little to close, but more usually grab the handle on the way in. Really not a problem, and i am not what you would call tall...
