My B class (2006 B200 Turbo) came without a service history but had only done £19k miles when I bought it in November 2012. The dealer I bought it from gave it a "service" as part of the package but I don't know what they did. I doubt that it was much more than an oil change. Ever since I bought it the service indicator has been counting down to a "service E" which is now due in 400miles (total mileage now 22k). However, my research says there should only be a service A and B.

Thanks

Mine is due the same soon too (B200 T, 28k miles, 55 plate).

I've been told its about £350 from a MB dealer, strangely almost the same price as quoted by a specialist.

From what I've read, the E means its 5 hrs work! Not sure if that's true or not.

Turns out recomendation from my local Main Dealer was a service A (about £200) or a discount service which seemed pretty much the same but with less inspection, for £119. As above, independant only fractionally cheaper.

Hmm...I feel a bit bummed.

I had mine done yesterday "you wont need much"

And was then told "yeah, 28k you dont need much at all at that" £245.

Got home and thought that was actually a damn expensive oil change! Granted they did check a few other bits but as I had a £350 starter motor at the same time, would have thought a bit of a discount might have been offered. The did a B service - A service is £100 less, but somehow, its now showing a B service next time, too! Wouldn't they alternate?
