C class total power loss

First spurious electrical warning lights relating to indicators, then electric boot misbehaved, finally on a motorway, total power loss.and engine wouldn't restart. Scary at the time. Recovery required to garage who replaced auxiliary battery. Difficult to have confidence in a car a year old misbehaving like this. Anyone else suffered similar?

Read on one of the US sites about a faulty ignition switch doing something similar. Seemed like it was not that uncommon and a pretty simple fix.
