Hi guys,
My dads had his 450 slc for 33 years now, seeing as we had some good weather and I had some free time I thought I'd get it out the storage and do the few little bits that needed to get it back on the road.
Here's some pictures to start with.

Got it recovered to the garage

Will add more pictures if anyone is interested further. The boomerang spoiler removal is going to be the first job on the list.

These are insanely under-appreciated cars. Now yours is an acquired taste but it is a good place to start. This is what I would do:
Remove the boomerang spoiler and chrome arches.
Remove that bonnet star.
Paint all the chrome matt black.
Return the grille to its proper shade of grey.
Thus:
