W124 front suspension change
Discussion
Changing the suspension on the W124 soon.
Is there anything I should know?
I'll repost these from the merc forum as could do with getting the grease etc tomorrow.
I'm about to do a fair bit of work on the front suspension, i have control arms, dampers and springs for both sides, new bolts for most things, 4 arb bushes, steering damper, and a few bits.
I couldn't get the preventative spray one of the articles I read mentioned, its £12.30+vat rather than a couple of quid in the article, with a minimum order of 10, so thats out, any suitable alternative?
I also read that you should grease the inside of the spring cup which you put on the top of the front springs, what grease should i use? and what is suitable to use if i need to help the arb bushes on a bit?
Is there anything I should also get thats handy, or that i should bear in mind?
Lastly what is the best way to jack the car up and where to place an axle stand at each side at the front as I will be replacing both control arms.
Thanks.

Any penetrating spray oil will do. I use a Duck branded spray oil, but only because that I what the ha at my local garage. It made a big difference when loosening long-fastened nuts and bolts. As for the rubber parts, any kind of rubber-fondly grease or lubricant will do, f'nar, f'nar. I'd guess something silicone-based?
Be bloody careful with springs and only us he correct tools. Don't jerry build a spring compressor.
Otherwise it's pretty straightforward and self explanatory under there.
