Hi all, I just joined today as I am breaking my SL350 and listing bits for sale. I then started reading the forum posts and they're great. I've just spent the best part of 4 hours reading some very interesting posts.
I have just bought my 2nd C Class Sport, my first was a C240 Sport which I swapped for a VW Golf Convertible in black. The guy who swapped it with me still baffles me to this day as tbh the golf was a bit tatty on a M plate, even had a slight year in the roof, didn't have power steering, or at least if it did, then it didn't work. Anyway as the C240 Sport was a 2.4 engine and a thirsty one at that, I only kept it for around a month as I got a good offer on it (by a dealer) as it was a 96 P with just 76000 on the clock. I got £2300 for it which considering the golf I swapped it for only cost me £600 + 6 months tax I would of been absolutely mad to turn down such an offer so of course with an offer of £2300 on the table (a profit of £1700 is not to be sneezed at) I sold the C240. Beautiful she was, factory AMG kit with later AMG alloys of a 2009 Mercedes (6 spoke) I was gutted I'd sold it but with living in London and the car being a thirsty one, especially at the speeds I drive at sometimes.

I have just bought my second Mercedes which is a C220 Sport which has the full factory AMG Bodykit and 18" AMG alloys, its a late 1994 model, 4 cylinder - 248bhp. Its only covered 103000 miles from new with just 2 owners and a FSH. Its the most beautiful and brilliantly engineered car I have ever driven (for an 'old' car) and much better on fuel than the C240 that's for sure. I'm getting 30/35 on a good day and around 25/27 on Sunday's.

I love merc's for they are so solid and reliable. I have traveled across a lot of Africa and visited North, West & South Africa and I'll tell you now, you still see merc's from the 70's and 80's. there are C classes and E classed everywhere. I'd go as far to say that they are probably the most prominent car brand in Afros purely because they are known as reliable cars b
Yes they're expensive to fix if they go wrong, but if you look after the car then you'll be fine.

Just tried to upload a picture from
My iPhone but it won't let me - I'll log on to my lappy shortly and post some pics up for you all to see.

Have a good one peeps
