Identifying an LSD on a C63

Is there an easy way to identify whether a C63 has the LSD option by visual inspection of a car?

Dont think so, not visually anyway. You could jack the car up so both rear wheels are off the ground. Turn one wheel. If the other turns the same way you have lsd. If it turns opposite then you don't.

I emailed the dealer but the response I got did not convince me that he knew what he was talking about. I became even more concerned when his advert incorrectly identified the car as a 2011 Facelift version.

No its not mine mate. Very same spec bar a couple of items though. Mine is a 2010 with only 14k on the clock.

It says it has an LSD so i'd be inclined to believe that. It also has some other decent options ticked so the odds are good for you. The only thing i can see wrong is the ceramic brake bit. They are not ceramic, they are alu/steel composite. Its a common error for dealers who dont see these cars often. Given what you said and what ive read maybe give this car a miss as you dont want to buy a car like this if they dont really know what it is. Its not a facelift car sure enough but it is the right year for FL. Must have been one of the last Pre-FL cars off the line.

One way to be sure would be to ask for the VIN and then phone merc to have the full spec list sent to you. That will give you all the info you need. Or send it to Matc on here as he is a dealer.

Thanks again for the invaluable info.

I think I will skip this one. I asked the dealer to send me a couple of specific photos and a copy of the OASIS report but they have not been bothered. I also think its a little overpriced for the mileage.

I will keep looking...
