w203 audio upgrade
Discussion
Hi, I've just purchased a 53 W203 C270 in an effort to find some comfort (and economy) on some soon to be regular 600 mile round trips.
My one gripe is the audio, it really seems to lacking in 'definition' - mostly over bassy and no real highs.
I have a single din Sony head unit, some component speakers and a small amp that I can remove from my other car that no longer requires a stereo!
I've purchased a single din fascia adapter as well as some speaker adapters.
My question relates to fitting it - I keep reading conflicting stories. Some say the mb iso plug is plug and play, you just need to take a switched live from else where, others seem to suggest that the whole iso harness needs replacing/rewiring.
I'm also slightly confused about this fibre optic business - I assume I can leave that disconnected if its only connecting the CD changer?
Can anyone that has done this shed some light.
