Theres little thats intelligent imo, well there is on the sytem fitted to my e class anyway.
I live out in the sticks so thought it would be a godsend but main beam wont kick in at low speeds so no good for tight windy lanes and then when the road does unwind its pretty stubborn to turn main beam off for oncoming cars and catching up traffic to the point where it winds other drivers up. The actual light is brilliant its the active side thats dimwhitted. Id rate it at 4/10. Good in principal but in practise.............
Stick to bixenons only if possible but the intelligent bit is an oxymoron!

I have it on my C350cdi. Its great, but tends to work better on motorways/dual carriageways without much oncoming traffic. On windy lanes, if the lights reflect off any surfaces, it does automatically switch off the main beam. With this sort of driving it has to be manually overridden, which is quite simple to activate. The actual lights are excellent, but the way that cars are becoming more 'automated' is infuriating. I much prefer the old MB setup which allowed the driver to decide whether he wanted 'auto' lights, but the new ones no longer offer that facility, they're either on or 'auto'. I find that I sometimes have to pre-empt the car and turn on the 'parking' lights just to stop the headlights switching on when I don't want them on.
I do find the auto-dip function a bit slow to dip at times, so switch to manual to override the auto main/dip function, which seems to defeat the point of them. But then, I also switch off many of the other auto functions

Have a set on my ML, they totally even on dipped beam turn night into day. I'm sure other drivers are less keen than I am with them, and this is on low beam. The High Beam assist is a bit slow in dropping them and also gets confused by reflective surfaces (rather like the comedy skit of a primitive looking into a mirror for the first time ever).
You can turn lots of the nanny functions off in the menu (2012 car) and I do that mostly - of course if you don't have command most of them are gone anyway (I do but I wanted the reversing camera for hooking up the towbar).
What I do find is the menu option for left-side/right-side traffic seems to move something (you can see it happen when the lights are shining at the wall, but has bu**er all effect on the full spread light output.

If it's on you'd expect it to take over but you need to override it so best not to use it IMO.

Agree, although I'd point the silly ECO stop-start issue/blame towards the EU bureaucrats rather than a sales gimmick. Just a means to reduce the daft Co2 figures. If only it didn't default to 'on' everytime, unless someone knows how to turn it off permanently.Turns itself off from reflections from windows or street signs. I'm a bit concerned about the extra wear on the starter motor especially the amount if miles I do. I guess it'll fail before three years are up and if that's all that fails I'll be happy!

I'm on 35k plus a year and the stop start still going well.

Yes, mine was exactly the same. On dipped, I was blinding oncoming traffic and also full beam was lighting tree tops rather than the road, so asked local dealer to lower them and now they're sorted. No more flashers!Anyone had much luck with resetting ?
I'm a little late with this but my 50pence worth I have CL 600 with plain xenons and a ml 350 with int light system no comparison ils much much beter mine was acting as a search light but dealer sorted it fine in also have an old ml 350 with normal lights it's like having two candles on front of car would not consider another car without them
