Hi all, my S204 C350 CDI has decided it wants a "B5" service in 30 days. Car is on about 29k miles and is a 59 plate.

What's entailed in a B service and what's the 5 part about? Also, does anyone have a rough idea of costs?

I have a bit of an aversion to mains dealers but what's the deal with the online MB service history, can some specialists access that?

Hi.
I'm a former Mercedes dealer tech, so should be able to help here. There are two services, A and B. They are done alternately. The A is basically an oil and filter change. The B includes a pollen filter as well. Everything else, brake fluid, air filter, fuel filter etc are additional depending on age and mileage. The 5 really doesn't mean anything. Yes specialists can fill out the digital service book if they are fully authorised like GMP in Hertford. If you really want to know the Dealer price put your reg number into the Mercedes "my service" website. You best be sitting down though.
