So im looking at a 10 plate ML350 this week at a MB dealers, appart from all the usuals what should be looking out for and asking about? How regular does the 4x4 need servicing? Also ive herd that these engines are very good and reliable and my dad has the 350 in his c63, so it makes me wonder should i be buying private? or stick with a dealer incase of and niggles in the future and possible big bills?

Stone chipping on the rear wheelarches.

Apart from that, mine has been good as gold.

This may sound silly, but check that folding side mirrors and heated seats work. I had problems with my last ML and these options are no longer standard. Also check for tainting / damage in alloy wheels and roof bars. I get mine from MB dealers, better warranty.

They are great cars. Go on and get one!

Oh, and to add to that list check the power hydraulic tailgate is working fine. If it ever seems confused, hit lock and then try again.
