I have never seen one for sale, were any sold in the UK? Wouldn't mind getting a feel for what one would be worth second hand.

Very possibly the most pointless car ever made (and I'm a huge fan of the SLK. I've even got one!)

All that focus on GT3RS style lightweight ultra track performance, and it's got the 7G autobox! biggrin

Don't get me wrong, it's a great gearbox (I've even got one!), but it's not a track car gearbox, not even close.

If it had a manual, or an automated paddleshift manual, it might have worked. But it hasn't. It's a highly focussed track weapon with a gearbox more suited to an S Class limo.

Pointless.

I think that's a little unfair tbh. The thing about the 7tronic is that you have to know how to drive it on track. My black series has the same box and yes, it's no GT3RS or Scuderia but its not hindered by the box as much as you'd think. Trick is read the owners manual as most don't understand that on down changes from high speed straights into slow bends whilst heavily on the brakes you just hold the left hand paddle in and the car wil climb down through the cogs itself at the right time for the engine. Changing up you just have to be positive for each change as the paddles do require this.

There is one CLK black in the uk that has an amazingly reworked box by MKB in Germany and with these mods the car and box is more than a match for any Track day toy excepting that this one makes people smile far more the other cars do !!
