I'm impressed with tyre life and about to replace the rears (255/35R18) at 17k miles from new - the fronts look like they are good for another ~5k miles(225/40R18) - currently running on Continentals.

The supplying MB dealership wants £275 each on the rears - they're taking the P!$$

I checked ASDA on line - and equivalent Continentals @ £183 each fully fitted and budgets ~50 % of this.

Any one got any recommendations for replacements?

Thx

I'd go for these (and from this company): http://www.clickontyres.co.uk/buy-tyres-online/pro...

I have a full set of these on my C220CDI Sport. Replaced the rears with the same last month, got about 20k out of the rears. These tyres as just as good as your big brands.

Just been pricing two rears for my C250 - Camskill £156.00 each including VAT for Continental Sport Contact (MB OE) Its crazy how much mark up some dealers / companies try for!

My rears did 48k and there's still 15k on the fronts.

You must drive it like you stole it!

Dunno, Continental I think. Whatever was on there when it was new, March 13.

I recently had my C350 in for a service and the dealer wanted £238 for a rear tyre. When I told him that a quick search on Black Circles gives me a price of £146 fitted for the same Continental tyres I was told that it costs them more than that to buy the tyres!! I think they need to find a cheaper supplier.

I get around 18K miles on a set of rear tyres.

How do you manage that ? Less than 2000 miles a set? I thought I drove my car hard, but I will see 5k out of the rears

I properly hammered my C63s tyres this year and still saw 6000 miles. Admittedly my year included a very fun Le Mans, a few good PH meets and some recent 'oh what the hell' moments (was attending a business opening event 2 weeks ago where numerous cars killed their rear tyres for spectator fun) they still lasted 6k miles. Truly fooked they are now and new ones go on Friday along with a colour change and refurb for the rims,

I only got 7K out of the rears on my C350 Estate running Conti 5's - gulp!

I was in the tyre garage having my winters put on and a taxi driver with a C class said he got 23k out of a set of el cheapo tyres on the rear.

Yes 33k ... Company car on a three yr 100k lease ... Nice place to sit on the motorway, we live in lancs and her office is in Luton so a 500 mile round trip !! Fortunately not every day though ... And we Ensure we get the most out of the fuel card for private mileage.

Haven't reset the trip computer and its currently averaging 57.7mpg over 33k miles

That actually got me thinking ... In a previous role at work I used to clock up about 100k-120k a year ... Plus about 18k per yr in my own car ... Still that was pounding the roads 10hrs a day !!
