Mercedes 129 wheels
Discussion
This is the first item that I have posted on this forum so please forgive if this item has been discussed before!
I have a 1998 sl 500 the car is fitted with what I would assume to be non-standard 18" five spoke AMG alloys. The car has just been serviced and I have been advised that all four wheels are buckled which was particularly surprising to learn as there is no vibration apparent at any speed!
My question is;I have spare set of 18" AMG wheels off a SL55 that I also own, will they fit the 129? Any assistance greatly appreciated.

The short answer is yes.
The more involved answer is that the offset on the SL55 AMG wheels is not quite right for the r129. The r230 wheels will be 18 x 8.5J ET 30 FA and 18 x 9.5J ET 33 RA. Running those widths on the r129, ideally you would have offsets of 18 x 8.5J ET 25 FA and 18 x 9.5J ET 23 RA.
(Obviously, this is [DIAMETER] x [WIDTH] [OFFSET] and FA is front axle, RA is rear axle. The thing to remember about offset is that there is no absolute value for any car: it is always relative to the width of the wheel.)

I don't know how much it would cost to repair them.
If they are genuine, AMG two piece wheels, I'd have them repaired at all costs: a new set is about £5,000. If they are the single piece wheel, you might want to have a look at buying some used but refurbished replacements, which seem to command about £750 to £1,000 on Ebay. If they're replicas, I'd be inclined to throw them away. If it were me, I wouldn't fit the SL55 AMG wheels to the r129 because they're not the right ones for the car and I'm a bit autistic like that.
