Hi Guys,

My car has developed an interesting fault it is a year and a bit old C250 cdi coupe. The issue is that when it is cold outside the volume on the DAB radio does not work, it is fixed at whatever volume it was when previously used.

I have asked MB about this and they are stumped and have not seen this before.

Has anyone else see this or has experience of this - it is really annoying and the volume can only be changed once the car has warmed up, turned off and then back on again.

Thanks chaps

Not heard of this. Presume no difference whether using volume control on head unit itself or the steering wheel? A real long shot but could it be the speaker cones stiffen up in the cold and can't be "driven" by the amp until they have warmed up??

Jimmy,

Not sure it is that reason as when I come off DAB the volume works... Very odd!

Just read again the OP, did not realise it only occurred with the DAB radio. Sorry beats me, I will no longer attempt to even speculate as to the reason this is happening.
If there was ever a list compiled of the weirdest car gremlins this would have to be pretty close to the top of the list.
