audio in the sl500

Hi all
Can someone please explain why you can change the audio set up in the SL320 but everyone says it's a "no go" in the 500SL
I keep seeing 320's advertised with after market audio in them, and I want to change my Audio 30 for an aftermarket set, but I'm always being told that you can't do it??

It's easy to change the audio 30. Just remove and replace, it has DIN connectors. However the cd changer is on a d2b fibre optic link so you'd lose that. So is the phone, if fitted. Whether you'd experience any benefit without changing amp and speakers is another matter.
