SLK r170 - vibration problem

Good morning!
During last saturday, I was doing a little road trip with my SLK 230 and I felt a little vibration in the transmission. If you put your hand on the gear stick you can feel a little knocking. It's only at 2000-3000 rpm. Then I parked it and put the gear stick in N and P, then I accelerated it and felt the same vibration.
This vibration it occasional, not every time. What could it be? Now the car is in Mercedes garage and they say that it could be engine supports or even the converter.

Today I have received a call from the MB garage. The problem is that the engine and the gearbox were out of their places... A mixture of time and torque could have moved them. The mechanics loosened the bolts of the supports and started the engine and when the engine and the gearbox were in their correct position the mechanics tightened the supports.
By the end of the week I will pick it up and during the weekend I will test it. I hope they are right and that the problem has been resolved.
