Please can someone tell me what the vacuum valve is in the exhaust on my 2001 CL500
Its past the cats where the pipes go into one then fork into two again before exiting to the rear.
Is it to comply with drive by exhaust noise? can it be removed for a little more exhaust noise or jammed open any advise please

I can't see anything in the parts catalogue that meets that description. Is it on this diagram?

No its not in the picture it is fitted between part number 90 and 100 is def factory fit with a vacuum pipe running through the car it controls a flap inside the pipe.
Looks all original not aftermarket and not a sports exhaust I don't think!

There's more than 1 90 and 100 and they seem to be nuts and bolts?

I've seen them on V12 engined cars, but never on a 500

Sorry its on the single pipe where the two front pipes join into one single pipe then branch into two pipes either side of the diff then into the rear silencers.
I have tried it in both positions and it makes no noise difference.
