I've just bought my wife a new C class estate in AMG Sport guise. Collected it last night and first impression is that it looks great in Diamond Silver but I should have gone for the tinted glass so will be getting that sorted this week. The one thing that let it down was the yellow sidelights - it looked naff so I have already replaced them with some of the Phillips blue vision ones and now the car looks as good as is should.

What do you think;
Before

After

Personally I am well chuffed with the car and after 24hrs of ownership think it is a cracking family car - so much so I might have to get myself an A45 :0)

Yellow bulbs will be cheaper than whiter coloured ones. Since it's not something that would affect a purchasing decision the manufacturer can save themselves the money. To look at it the other way, if they fitted them (and it didn't add value to customers) then they're burning money for no benefit. Multiply by millions of cars and you save a bundle for no downside.

Similar to most using orange tinted indicator bulbs rather than silvertech, which look SO much better! (Silvertech bulbs are the same orange class so shine orange, but they have a silver reflective coating so that they look silver/clear when viewed behind clear glass.)

Valid point well put! I must admit I kind of fancy changing the internal yellow bulbs to some nice ice white ones so that they tie I to the dashboard lighting! Hmmm idle thumbs lol

I got the wife a 60 plate, C Class estate recently also and I changed the main headlight bulbs as I felt these to be very very weak, well worth £15!

I wouldn't do that, at the moment they give a nice warm glow, going white will make it feel cold.
