C63 tyres, any downside to going large?
Discussion
My rear tyres will need changing soon. I have conti c3's all round atm, but I'm thinking of fitting Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I've seen several posts where people have fitted these with 265 width rather than the 255 for the factory fitted tyres, as they were not available in 255.
It looks like the super sports are now available in 255 width. So, the question is, should I still go for a 265 tyre? My car has PPP, so extra power. Will the 265 help get the power down better? Are there any drawbacks to fitted a wider tyre (maybe potential insurance claim issues)?

You may find that the overall width difference between a 255 of one manufacturer and a 265 of another is minimal anyway due to different production tolerances.
This is quite apparent on my Aprilia RSV where some makes of 190 rears rub so a 180 is needed but other manufactures 190's dont.
What width is the wheel?
I have a 9 inch wide rim on my S6 and that has a 265 tyre as standard but i have seen 255 tyres used on a 9 inch rim before with no issues that im aware of.
